Hello, Congratulations on your new pregnancy, and welcome to my web
page! I hope you find some useful information here. I would be happy to
answer any further questions you may have. Please feel free to give me a
call or email me, or better yet, let's get together for a visit!
I am a traditionally trained homebirth midwife. I have been working as a
midwife since 1998. I provide confidential, professional care for well
women through the entire childbearing cycle, specializing in homebirth
and waterbirth services. I am committed to providing every client with
gentle, sensitive, holistic assistance.
Midwifery care and homebirth are not only a very safe option for most
women, thereby being reimbursed by most insurance programs, but a very
economical option as well, costing about one third the cost of routine
OB/GYN care and hospital birth. Payment plans are available and credit
cards are accepted.
I work in partnership with each woman to help her become or remain
low-risk, and to attain and maintain a state of optimal health and
wellness. To achieve this goal, I continuously study the fields of
midwifery, nutrition, relaxation, childbirth education and lactation
(breastfeeding). I maintain daily communication with other midwives both
locally and nationally, and I have a great working relationship with the
best health, wellness, and medical experts in the community.
Services available include: client education and counseling, well-woman
care, laboratory testing, pap smears, complete prenatal care, continuous
support during labor, delivery of infant, newborn care, postpartum care
of mother, consultation and referral service for area physicians and
other family service providers, referrals for nationally certified
childbirth educators and doulas, breastfeeding assistance, and
registering the birth for the birth certificate, social security number,
and newspaper announcement. I love to speak to groups! I would be happy
to speak to any group on any of these topics: Healthy pregnancy and
childbirth, Homebirth and traditional midwifery, and Classical Christian
home-schooling.
I am a Christian, married for 13 years to Jason (a computer systems
specialist and a terrific guy), a home-schooling mother, and a midwife.
Four out of five of my children were born at home. I have delivered or
assisted at over 150 births in all settings: homebirth, birth center,
water-birth, and hospital. My training has included apprenticeship, attendance
at conferences, workshops and seminars, as well as extensive home study and
correspondence. I seek out and participate in continuing education
opportunities continuously.
